Lightweight backpack for hiking
The lightweight backpack for hiking Kumo 36, which means “cloud” in Japanese, is made in Texas (USA) by Gossamer Gear.
It does not have an internal frame to save weight, with a simple 3-pocket design and a removable minimalist belt. It also features the SitLight back foam, which provides great comfort, and is mainly constructed of 70D/100D Robic Nylon, a highly durable and resistant material.
When to use it
It is a lightweight and medium-sized backpack that forces you to carry only the essentials. You can carry loads of 8 kg very comfortably, suitable for 3-5 days of food and water. Its design features make it suitable for all types of terrains, allowing dynamic movements and jumps. The result: you will get tired much less and be able to go further.
The interior is quite spacious, and the side pockets make it easy to grab items without taking off the backpack. The hip belt pockets are ideal for small objects, and the front mesh pocket is perfect for storing wet rain gear or extra clothing.

Design
It features a SitLight back foam SitLight that aids stability and can be removed to use as a ground pad 🙂 The shoulder straps have been improved compared to previous versions: now they are softer and wider. It is comfortable even when fully packed.
The hip belt does a good job stabilizing the load while keeping the hips free. Thanks to this, the backpack is suitable for individuals of almost any height, both men and women.

The Kumo 36L lightweight backpack for hiking is constructed with Robic, a type of ripstop nylon of very high quality made by Hyosung. They use 70 denier and 100 denier densities for the areas most prone to abrasion. It also has a polyurethane (PU) waterproof coating and a durable water repellent treatment (DWR) to prevent water absorption.
Compared to other nylon fabrics, Robic® is up to 50% stronger and tear-resistant without excessively increasing the weight. In other words, the Kumo 36L will last you for years.

I mainly use this backpack for weekend getaways, and I must say that I feel very comfortable with it. At first, I was worried that the 36 liters would be insufficient, especially when going out with my kids and having to carry more things, but I have never lacked additional space.
One of the things I like most about this backpack is that Gossamer Gear continues to improve it over time, and that is evident in the small details, such as the removable belt and mesh pockets. These additions make a big difference in terms of comfort.

He utilizado varias mochilas y esta es espectacular. Muy ligera, resistente, cómoda y tiene muchos compartimento y bolsillos que ayudan organizar bien la carga. Estéticamente es muy bonita. Al principio tuve dudas entre la Gorilla y esta, pero javier me ayudo con la elección y acertó! La recomiendo totalmente!

Buenos días,
adquirí esta mochila hace casi 1 año y he esperado a usarla en varias ocasiones para comentar. Los consejos de Javier sobre qué mochila usar y conversaciones con él sobre para qué la quería hicieron que me decidiera por este modelo.
Resalto su mínimo peso y la calidad de la misma. La uso para salidas de 1, 2 y hasta 3 días, llevando comida, tienda y todo lo necesario. También es cierto que tengo un equipo muy currado.
Impermeabilidad: me dijo Javier, y pone en la página, que aguanta algo el agua, pero no es 100% impermeable. Me ha caído bastante nieve en una salida y en otras algo de agua, y ha aguantado, pero no fueron grandes precipitaciones. Si me cae alguna gorda, comentaré su comportamiento.
Tuneado: después de meses usándola, he recortado y cosido alguna cincha del cinto y de las hombreras que eran muy largas. Además he comprado cordino elástico y cambiado los cordones laterales por este para poder “agarrar” bien lo que llevo, la tienda, por ejermplo.
Nota: me encanta la malla trasera, cabe de todo y lo tienes todo a mano. El cinturón lo puedes poner o quitar, y hay dos alturas para colocarlo.

Super contenta con la mochila. La utilizé tambièn para un trekking de 8 dìas y pude llevar todo lo que necesitaba, con poco peso y sin falta de espacio. Los unicos es que se han dañado un poco los bolsillos laterales para agua/bastones, pero he ido por rocas y puede pasar. Muy coontenta con la calidad del prroducto.

Excelente mochila muy ligera, pero versátil y espaciosa. He esperado a usarla con carga para comentar. Se pueden llevar 8 kilos con total comodidad. No recomiendo, como indican, llevar más de 10. El cinturón podría ser mejor, pero pesaría más todo el conjunto. Cumple su función. Buena elección para los que busquen ligereza y volumen de carga por encima de todo. El bolsón de malla trasero es una maravilla.
