El ultralight quilt Revelation 850 from Enlightened Equipment<\/a>, made in Minnesota (USA), is a very well-balanced option for those who want to sleep more comfortably and cut weight compared to a conventional sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

It uses 850 fill-power duck down, a light, compressible option that\u2019s more affordable than the 950 version. It makes sense if you want a versatile quilt for hiking, thru-hikes, and 3-season trips without necessarily going for the most extreme option.<\/p>\n

When to use it<\/span><\/h2>\n

Revelation 850 makes sense if you\u2019re looking for a comfortable, versatile, easy-to-use ultralight quilt for 3-season trips. Compared to a traditional sleeping bag, it removes the hood and the compressed insulation under your back to save weight and give you more freedom of movement.<\/p>\n

You can use it open like a blanket on mild nights, or cinch the footbox closed when it\u2019s colder. Paired with an inflatable sleeping pad, it provides a light, highly adaptable sleep system for hiking and multi-day trips.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h2>\n

One of the reasons Revelation is so popular is its U-shaped design, intended to help keep the down evenly distributed and prevent it from shifting to the sides and creating cold spots.<\/p>\n

In the footbox area it features a zipper, snaps, and a drawcord closure to retain heat more effectively. If it\u2019s warm, you can open it completely; if temperatures drop, you close the bottom and use it more like a sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

Made with 10D nylon and filled with 850 fill power down<\/h2>\n

The Revelation 850 uses 850 fill power duck down with RDS certification. It\u2019s a high-quality fill\u2014light and highly compressible\u2014designed to provide solid warmth without driving up weight or price.<\/p>\n

The outer fabric is 10-denier ripstop nylon, lightweight and breathable, with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent<\/em>) treatment to help moisture bead and roll off the fabric surface.<\/p>\n
