On mid- and long-distance routes, it\u2019s essential to check the map again and again. The goal is to follow the marked route and avoid straying, so you can enjoy the mountains safely.<\/p>\n

Even though the trend is going digital, you reduce risk if you carry a printed map. Map cases keep your maps protected whatever the weather.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h2>\n

Zipper opening and made in several sizes. We\u2019ve focused on sizes M and L because they have standard dimensions that work well for most maps on the market.<\/p>\n

There are attachment points at each end in case you want to hang it around your neck. You can also secure it to your pack around the hip belt area. That will depend on the type of hip belt or waist pack you use.<\/p>\n

Made of silnylon and clear vinyl<\/h2>\n

It uses a very thin fabric: silicone-impregnated ripstop nylon (silnylon). Silicone is a hydrophobic material (repels water), so it creates a highly waterproof fabric. It also has some stretch, like nylon itself, which makes it more resistant to pulls and tears.<\/p>\n

For map visibility, they use a type of clear vinyl.<\/p>\n
