The Junction 2400 is a mountain backpack made in Maine (USA) by Hyperlite Mountain Gear.<\/a> Of all their models, this is the most versatile for multi-day routes.<\/p>\n

\n

When to use it<\/h2>\n

The 2400 version (40 liters main body + 10 liters external pockets) from HMG is the right size for hikes lasting up to 4 days and maximum loads of up to 18kg.
\nIt is designed for use in wet areas with tall vegetation where it is easy to get caught. That’s why, unlike the Southwest and Windrider, its side pockets are made of a durable fabric and a mesh back for drying wet gear.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h2>\n

It has a large main compartment, an internal sleeve for the hydration system, and large pockets on the belt. Additionally, the top is rollable which allows you to adjust the load as you go. It can even hold a jacket, a sleeping pad, or ropes.
\nThey use two removable aluminum supports to transfer the weight to the lumbar belt instead of a full frame. The belt is sewn to the backpack unlike other backpacks. This keeps everything in place and improves carrying.<\/p>\n

Made of Dyneema Composite Hybrid<\/h2>\n

It’s a hybrid fabric composed of Dyneema and polyester which, in addition to its mechanical qualities, is also very durable.
\nDyneema is a waterproof fabric and absorbs less water than other UL fabrics. This, combined with the sealed seams, makes it virtually waterproof.<\/p>\n
