The ultralight Thinlight pad from Gossamer Gear<\/a> (USA) is a very thin foam sheet designed as an add-on to your sleep system. It adds protection, improves your sleeping pad\u2019s grip, and provides an extra layer of insulation with hardly any weight.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of those simple accessories you can use in many ways: from protecting your inflatable pad to using it as a sit pad or as support inside your pack.<\/p>\n

When to use it<\/h2>\n

The Thinlight makes sense if you use an inflatable sleeping pad and want to reduce the risk of punctures or stop it from sliding around inside the tent. Placed underneath, it improves grip and adds a small extra layer between you and the ground.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also useful as a sit pad, as a base to place gear on, or as a back panel inside your pack. Some people even cut it down to carry only what they need.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h2>\n

This is a very thin, lightweight foam, designed to complement other items\u2014not to replace a sleeping pad. Its main advantage is adding functionality without a meaningful penalty in weight or bulk.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s available in different formats: rolled, foldable, and in longer or wider versions depending on use. You can choose the one that best fits your kit or even customize it by trimming.<\/p>\n

Made from PE\/EVA Polyolefin<\/h2>\n

The Thinlight is made from a combination of Polyolefin and EVA. This type of foam is lightweight, flexible, and abrasion-resistant, so you can use it directly on the ground without worrying too much about wear.<\/p>\n

With a thickness of 3,2 mm, it\u2019s not designed to provide comfort on its own, but to add protection and a small boost of insulation to your sleep system.<\/p>\n
