The Side Shield Case, made by Ombraz, is a case for carrying and protecting Ombraz sunglasses when you have the side shields already installed.

Its goal is to keep glasses and accessories together in a compact format, and to include a lens-cleaning cloth without needing to carry a separate microfiber cloth.

When to use it

Useful if you store your sunglasses with the side shields on and want to prevent them from deforming or snagging on your backpack pocket. It also makes sense if you often carry Ombraz accessories and prefer to keep them organized in the same case.

If you don’t use side shields, a simpler case will probably do the job. There’s no information on waterproofing or impact protection, so it’s best treated as a lightweight carry case, not a hard case.

Design

The back has slots designed to hold the glasses with the side shields attached, so you don’t have to remove them every time you store the setup.

Inside, it includes an elastic pocket for small accessories and a sewn-in microfiber for lens cleaning—handy when there’s dust or splashes and you don’t want to look for a loose cloth.

Made of neoprene

It’s built from 3 mm black neoprene. It’s a foamed, flexible material that cushions scuffs and protects from contact with other items inside your backpack.

Compared to a hard case, neoprene takes up less space and fits better into tight spots, although it offers less structural protection against crushing.
