X-Lite 300 (2°C)

The X-Lite 300 is an ultralight sleeping bag made by Cumulus in Poland. It’s designed for hikers who want to minimize pack weight and bulk without giving up solid three-season insulation.

When to use it

The X-Lite 300 is a good choice for spring, summer, and autumn, especially on trips where weight and pack space are a priority. With a comfort temperature of 2 °C, it works well on cool nights, but it’s not intended for demanding cold conditions.

If you tend to sleep cold or want a bigger warmth margin, the X-Lite 400 may be a better option. And if you ever want to extend its usable range a bit, you can rely on a good sleeping pad, dry thermal layers, or a light down jacket as part of a layering system.

Design

It features a classic mummy design, with an adjustable hood and trapezoidal baffles that help distribute the down efficiently to improve insulation. The two-way zipper runs about two thirds of the length, making it easier to get in and to vent when needed.

This model is clearly aimed at those who prioritize low weight and packability over unnecessary extras. That’s why it’s especially interesting for thru-hikes, multi-day routes, or any trip where every gram counts.

900 cuin down fill

The X-Lite 300 uses 300 g of Polish goose down with 900 cuin fill power. This combination delivers an excellent balance of insulation, weight, and compressibility.

The outer fabric is Toray® Airtastic 19 g/m², 7 denier, with a DWR finish. It’s a very lightweight fabric, soft to the touch, with good resistance to wind and light moisture, and it’s designed to minimize down leakage.
