Titanium Windshields Toaks

The Vesuv Titanium Windshields for TOAKS pots, made by Vesuv, is a titanium windscreen for cooking with a stove in windy conditions. It is designed to fit specific TOAKS pots, with versions by diameter.

Its purpose is to surround the pot and reduce direct exposure to gusts, helping keep the flame more sheltered. Choosing the right version depends on your pot model and whether you want it to pack inside the pot.

When to use it

A good fit for trips where you cook outdoors and wind makes stove performance difficult, especially on short stops or bivvies. It makes sense if you already use one of the compatible TOAKS pots and want a windscreen with geometry specific to that diameter.

There is one clear limitation with the TOAKS 700 ml (Ø115 mm) version: when folded, it does not fit inside the pot. If you need to store it inside the pot, the 750 ml (Ø95 mm) variant is intended for that use.

Design

There are two approaches depending on the pot. The 700 ml (Ø115 mm) and 900 ml (Ø130 mm) versions are one piece, while the 750 ml (Ø95 mm) variant uses a two-piece design so it can be stored inside a cup-style pot.

In practice, this changes how you carry it: a single piece is usually simpler to handle, but may be less packable; two pieces can make it easier to store in the pot itself, at the cost of assembling a set with more parts.

Made from titanium

It is made from titanium (Ti), a common metal for backcountry cooking accessories thanks to its good stiffness-to-weight ratio and heat tolerance. For this kind of use, titanium allows thin walls without easily deforming under normal handling.

As with any metal windscreen, it may pick up marks from use and folding. No coatings or additional treatments are specified.
