When to Use
Windproof garments are made of very thin fabrics that prevent the wind from stripping away your body heat while you’re on the move. They also prevent the heat you generate from escaping.
With that in mind, you can wear it in a wide range of situations. Whether ascending a peak, at the campsite paired with a fleece, or even inside a sleeping bag to retain even more heat in challenging cold and humid conditions.
Design
It’s a garment that fits in the palm of your hand. You won’t find pockets to save weight or large zippers.
Compared to other similar models, the Torrid ultralight windproof jacket has a good fit to the body. The hood fits well around the head and comes with a drawstring for a better adjustment.
Made of 10D Nylon
The Torrid ultralight windproof jacket is made of a 10-denier nylon type that is highly breathable and water-resistant with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment. It is a coating applied to the exterior of the fabric so that water slides off and does not penetrate.
It won’t protect you from continuous rain, but it can be worn over a fleece or base layer to block the wind and keep you warmer when walking or running.

So far I’ve used it 2 times and it has performed well. Once with a bit of drizzle and I hardly got wet, even though it’s not a waterproof garment. The fabric is very thin, and an important point is the sizing. It’s American and you can tell. I got an L and I’m 1.73 m tall, but an M would be better.
