Ultralight Hiking Mat
The Thermo-Vouwmat Easy Light ultralight mat from the brand Sirex, manufactured in Germany by the company Imbema, is so lightweight that you’ll hardly notice you’re carrying it.
When to use it
A ground mat serves two main functions: thermally insulating you from the cold ground and providing some comfort while sleeping. If it’s also cheap and ultralight, it might be just what you’re looking for.
The material of this type of mats is easily cuttable, which means you can cut it to around 1.20m to insulate only the upper part of your body (shoulders and hips). This allows you to carry a mat that weighs less than 150g. 🙂
Design
The mat has cavities and reliefs designed to increase insulation. First, it traps the air when you lie down on it, and second, it increases the thickness of the mat without affecting the weight.
Additionally, it’s very compact and can be folded up to 9 times on itself.
Made of polyurethane PU
The Thermo-Vouwmat Easy Light ultralight mat is made of a flexible, high-density polyurethane foam. Polyurethane is a completely waterproof polymer with just the right density to offer a weight of 170g.
