The Rain Kit rain skirt is manufactured in Utah (United States) by ULA-Equipment and is a less bulky, lightweight, and above all, breathable alternative to conventional rain pants.
This rain skirt is intended to be used in 3 seasons, especially in summer when walking on trails with tall vegetation where pants are easily soaked.
Although it doesn’t provide much protection in cold, windy, or insect-ridden conditions, it has other advantages that you might value. It weighs very little, takes up almost no space, is easy to put on and take off even with boots on, and above all, it is 100% breathable (your legs won’t sweat).
It uses a Velcro closure to tighten and adjust it to your waist size, making it easy to put on and take off. There’s no other secret. Just one detail: place it over your clothing so that water slides down to the ground and not the other way around.
Silnylon is a nylon fabric impregnated with silicone. Silicone is a hydrophobic material (repels water), making it waterproof. It also has some elasticity, like nylon itself, which makes it more resistant to pulls and tears.
Additionally, it has a ripstop finish, which provides additional reinforcement to the fabric, making it more resistant to tearing. Technically, it consists of two interwoven threads at regular intervals, forming a grid.

It weighs very little, is very quick to put on, and the gray color is very discreet. For me, it is an excellent lightweight and ventilated alternative to waterproof pants.

So far I’ve only used it twice in summer. It takes up very little space compared to the pants I had, and you can put it on in a moment, which is what I like most about this garment. If you don’t mind getting your feet wet, which is inevitable when it rains, it’s the perfect garment.
