Vertice Rain Kilt

The Vertice Rain Kilt is an ultralight waterproof skirt made by Zpacks. It is designed to protect your legs from rain during hiking and long-distance treks, offering a lighter and more breathable alternative to traditional waterproof pants.

Its main difference compared to other rain kilts is the use of Vertice fabric, a three-layer waterproof and breathable membrane that helps reduce condensation and improves comfort during exertion.

When to use it

The Vertice Rain Kilt is intended for hikers who want to protect their legs from rain without adding the weight, heat, and bulk of waterproof pants.

It works especially well in mild, wet climates where ventilation is important. By leaving the lower legs uncovered, it allows you to walk with less heat buildup and reduces sweat accumulation on climbs.

Design

The skirt wraps around the waist with a side closure system. It can be put on or taken off quickly without needing to remove your shoes or backpack.

Its design offers freedom of movement while walking and makes everyday trail tasks easier, such as crossing obstacles, stepping up, or accessing your gear. It also takes up very little space when not in use.

Made with Vertice

It is made with the same fabric used in the Zpacks Vertice range. It features a three-layer construction made up of 7-denier ripstop nylon, a waterproof membrane, and a soft-touch tricot inner lining.

The fabric offers waterproofness above 20,000 mm and high breathability. This helps moisture generated during exertion escape more effectively compared to rain kilts made from fully waterproof, non-breathable fabrics.
