The ultralight alcohol stove made in Tokyo, Japan by Evernew is extremely light, durable and takes up very little space in your pack. If you cook only for yourself and follow the correct fuel safety precautions, there is no better option.
When to use it
Stoves of this type have a very simple design, and their fuel, alcohol, is cheap and easy to find. However, alcohol stoves are not the most powerful. If you are a high-mountain hiker used to winter trips, you will know that you need to choose more powerful heat sources such as gas. I explain it here
The Evernew ultralight alcohol stove has two diffusion zones: one around the base and the other around the upper edge. This is designed to further increase its power. With 30 ml of alcohol, you can boil 400 ml of water in approx. 5 minutes.
How it works
Simply pour the alcohol into the stove. A series of highly visible markings inside the container (30–60 ml) allow you to measure the amount of fuel you are using very easily. How do you light it? You can use a match or, as we do, a spark from a magnesium fire starter.
Most alcohol stoves burn all their fuel at once, but thanks to the volume markings, it is very easy to calculate the amount of fuel you need. A coffee? Easy. Pour slightly less than the 30 ml mark and use a pot stand for greater stability and better efficiency.
Made from Grade 1 and 2 Titanium
Titanium is an extremely light and strong metal. It does not rust or corrode in damp conditions, so it is highly durable. Titanium in its purest form is not usually used commercially; it is mixed with other metals to create alloys with better performance or to reduce its cost.
To differentiate the quality of each alloy, they are divided into Grades regulated by an international body called ASTM. Evernew uses Grade 1 and 2 titanium alloy, considered the purest commercially available titanium, with over 99% purity.
