This ultralight wood stove is made in California, USA by Toaks Outdoor and is a smaller, lighter version of the large model.
Recognition: this wood stove received the 2015 Industrial Award in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
When to use it
When you go on long trips, where access to a fuel resupply point could be a problem, a wood stove for hiking can make sense. The practical advantage is obvious: the fuel can be found in the surroundings if conditions and regulations allow it. It fits better on trips where you accept spending some time collecting and feeding small sticks.

Design
It consists of 3 pieces that fit together perfectly and can be stacked inside each other. To stop soot from dirtying your gear when it is inside your pack, it comes with an orange nylon carry bag.
To keep the flame going long enough to boil water or cook food, you will need to collect pieces of wood around 7-10 cm long. That will feed the stove for quite a while and, above all, it can keep you warm for longer on very cold nights or mornings.
Made from Grade 1/2 titanium
This stove is made from uncoated titanium. It is a common material in mountain cookware because it does not rust easily, handles heat well, and helps keep the weight down in a piece that will get dirty with soot and direct use over fire.

It works very well and stays quite stable when heating water in a pot. Since it’s wood-burning, you can’t use it inside the tent, it would fill with smoke. You have to keep it outside. For it to work well, it’s key to use the right wood and make sure it isn’t too damp, otherwise it will struggle a lot. Other than that, the titanium looks very good and it’s easy to clean, although it’s better to carry a bag to store it in because of the soot.
