X-Lite 400 (-1°C)

El sleeping bag X-Lite 400 by Cumulus, made in Poland, is a warmer version of the X-Lite 300, with more down fill to improve insulation with hardly any increase in weight. It keeps an ultralight design focused on minimizing packed volume.

It’s a very balanced option if you want more thermal margin without moving to a heavier or bulkier bag. Ideal for those who already prioritize weight and space but need a bit more protection from the cold.

WHEN TO USE IT

Unlike the X-Lite 300, the X-Lite 400 adds 100 g more down, making it possible to sleep at temperatures close to 0°C with a base layer. It’s a reliable choice for spring, summer, and autumn in most conditions.

If you’re sensitive to cold or you’ll be sleeping in more demanding conditions, it may be a bit tight. In that case, it makes sense to step up to a warmer model or pair it with insulated clothing to extend its usable range.

DESIGN

It has a mummy design with an adjustable hood and trapezoidal baffles that help keep warmth evenly distributed. The two-way zipper runs two-thirds of the bag, making ventilation and access easier.

It’s a simple, functional design focused on reducing weight and packed size without unnecessary features. This makes it especially appealing for anyone who prioritizes a lighter kit.

900 CUIN DOWN FILL

It uses 400 g of Polish goose down with 900 cuin fill power, delivering a high level of insulation at very low weight and with excellent compressibility.

The outer fabric is 7D Toray® Airtastic (19 g/m²), very light and compact. It offers good protection against wind and moisture, keeping the down contained without adding unnecessary weight.
