The Insulated V Ultralite SL ultralight hiking mat is designed by Klymit from Utah – United States. It was launched in 2017 and has since remained one of the best in its category.
When to use it
The Insulated V Ultralite SL has an R-value of 4.4, making it warm enough to sleep on snow during intermediate seasons (late autumn and early spring).
Unless you are using an ultralight quilt or a sleeping bag without insulation on the bottom, this ultralight hiking mat will likely feel warmer than others with similar R-values.

Design
The Insulated V Ultralite SL, like the rest of the models in the series, uses a system of vertical V-shaped baffles that are designed to prevent you from sliding.
The edge baffles, which Klymit calls side rails, provide additional support and help keep you centered on the pad.

Made of 20D Ripstop Polyester
Polyester is a very common synthetic fabric used in the outdoor industry. Compared to other fabrics, polyester does not absorb moisture and withstands the sun’s UV rays better. If you want high durability and excellent waterproofness, this is the fabric to choose.
Additionally, this ultralight hiking mat uses a 20-denier Ripstop polyester to achieve an ideal balance between strength, comfort, and lightweight.
