When to Use It
The Splash Bivy is designed to be used as an extra layer under a tarp, in 3-season conditions. It adds extra protection against side rain, dew, and wind, and helps maintain temperature by creating a small internal chamber.
It is also very useful as a barrier against dust and dirt when sleeping directly on the ground, and as additional protection against condensation when sleeping in single-wall tents.

Design
This waterproof ultralight bivouac combines a fully sealed Dyneema Composite Fabric base with a No-See-Um mesh top that protects against insects and improves ventilation.
It includes a DCF hood that can be partially closed to protect the torso and head in case of side rain or strong winds. This hood can be secured with a small cord (included) to prevent the mesh from touching your face while sleeping. Additionally, its rectangular shape fits well with most sleeping pads and bags, and its waterproof base eliminates the need for an additional ground sheet.

Made of Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF)
Like all Hyperlite Mountain Gear products, the Splash Bivy is made from Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), an extremely lightweight, waterproof, and tear-resistant material.
The base is made of DCF11 to withstand direct contact with the ground, and the waterproof hood utilizes DCF8. This allows the weight to remain very low without compromising durability or protection against moisture.
