X-Mid 2

La X-Mid.2, made in Canada by Durston Gear, is a 2-person ultralight tent that has won multiple awards for its unique geometry and real-world functionality. When to use it

Ideal for multi-day routes, fastpacking trips, or lightweight outings for two with backpacks. Its shape and trekking-pole pitch (or optional pole) allow it to be set up in a few minutes, even in wind or rain. Despite its minimal weight, it offers enough space for 2 full-size sleeping pads.

Design

The X-Mid structure creates a wide area and near-vertical walls that maximize interior space. Thanks to this geometry, 2 people can sit comfortably without touching the roof or side walls. The two large vestibules let you store backpacks, boots, and gear outside the main area, keeping the interior clear and organized.

Access from both sides is convenient, and the poles don’t interfere with the doors, making it easy to get in and out even with gear stored. The waterproof zippers provide a smooth, reliable closure, even in rain or when the fabric is under tension.

Made from 15D SIL/PE polyester (DCF)

The selected fabric, 15D Sil/PE polyester with a 3,500 mm HH coating, combines low weight, waterproofing, and resistance to sagging when wet. The seams come factory-taped, boosting protection against rain and wind. Plus, using trekking poles as the structure minimizes additional metal parts, reducing weight.
