La Mid 1, manufactured by Hyperlite Mountain Gear in Maine, USA, is one of the lightest 3-season pyramid tents available, weighing only 476g. This weight is over 100 grams less than models from other brands, making it an ideal choice for long-distance hikers.
When to Use It
The Mid 1 is designed as a 3-season tent: spring, summer, and fall, ideal for solo use. However, many hikers are found using it in winter as well. It is easy to set up and can be pitched with a single adjustable trekking pole or a carbon fiber mast (not included).
It features additional tie-out points for added stability in mountainous areas and strong wind conditions.

Design
The interior space is generous, with 81 cm width and 244 cm length, offering enough space to store backpacks and additional gear. Moreover, its height is 137 cm, which is exceptionally high.
The seams, sealed directly from the factory, ensure complete waterproofing. Additionally, the height from the ground is adjustable, optimizing ventilation and reducing condensation for a more comfortable and dry environment.

To achieve an optimal balance between lightness and durability, the Mid 1 is built with Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), a material known for its exceptional tear and water resistance, while maintaining an extremely low weight.
The floor uses a 10 thickness DCF, robust enough to forgo an additional footprint. The rest of the tent utilizes a lighter DCF5.
