The Splash Bivy, made by Hyperlite Mountain Gear in Maine (United States), is one of the lightest waterproof ultralight bivy sacks on the market, weighing just 157 g. When to use it
The Splash Bivy is designed to be used as an extra layer under a tarp, in 3-season conditions. It adds extra protection from wind-driven rain, dew and wind, and helps retain warmth by creating a small internal air space.
It is also very useful as a barrier against dust and dirt when sleeping directly on the ground, and as additional protection from condensation when sleeping in single-wall tents.

Design
This ultralight waterproof bivy combines a fully sealed Dyneema Composite Fabric floor with a No-See-Um mesh upper that protects against insects and improves ventilation.
It includes a DCF hood that can be partially closed to protect the torso and head in sideways rain or strong winds. This hood can be suspended with a small cord (included) to prevent the mesh from touching your face while you sleep. Its rectangular shape also fits most sleeping pads and sleeping bags well, while its waterproof floor eliminates the need for an additional groundsheet.

Made from Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF)
Like all Hyperlite Mountain Gear products, the Splash Bivy is made from Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), an extremely lightweight, waterproof and tear-resistant material.
The floor is made from DCF11 to withstand direct contact with the ground, while the waterproof hood uses DCF8. This keeps weight very low without compromising durability or protection from moisture.
