X-Mid 1 Solid

The X-Mid 1 Solid, made by Durston, is a 1P double-wall trekking pole tent designed for backpacking in cold conditions and wind-exposed areas. Its defining feature is the Solid variant, aimed at providing more protection while staying within a lightweight format.

When to use it

It is especially well suited to solo trips where wind, cold, or exposure are expected parts of the route. The Solid variant makes more sense than the standard version if you travel in cold mountains, for winter use, or on long trips in unstable climates.

Design

The structure uses 2 trekking poles and a pitch with 4 required stakes, with fly-first setup. This simplifies pitching and avoids awkward angles or specific measurements during setup.

The fly is full coverage, includes two large adjustable vents, and doors with dual zippers. The fly doors can be left open in porch mode with a pole or trekking pole, and the magnetic closures make opening and stowing quicker.

Made of 20D Sil/PE polyester

The fly uses polyester fabric that does not sag with humidity, a practical difference compared to other fabrics that can lose tension when wet. It is paired with factory-sealed seams and a construction with double stitching, double-folded edges, and reinforcements at the highest-stress points.
