55L Backpack
The Southwest 3400 is a 55L backpack made in Maine (USA) by Hyperlite Mountain Gear. If you need a backpack for traversing challenging terrains, the Southwest has all the advantages.
When to Use
It has a total capacity of 65 liters: 55 liters for the main body and another 10 liters in the external pockets. With this capacity, it’s perfect for long trips lasting several weeks and carrying loads of up to 18kg.
It is designed to withstand any climate anywhere, be it rainy, desert, or snowy. That’s why, unlike the Junction and Windrider, all its external pockets have a rigid fabric to endure wear and tear when constantly rubbing or poking against vegetation or rocks.

Design
It features a large main compartment, an internal sleeve for the hydration system, and large pockets on the belt. Additionally, the top is rollable, allowing you to adjust the load as you go. It can even hold a jacket, a sleeping pad, or ropes.
They use two removable aluminum supports to transfer the weight to the lumbar belt instead of a full frame. The belt is sewn to the backpack, unlike other backpacks. This ensures everything stays in place and enhances carrying.

Made of Dyneema Composite Hybrid
The 55L Southwest backpack uses a hybrid fabric composed of Dyneema and polyester which, in addition to its mechanical qualities, is also very durable.
Dyneema is a waterproof fabric and does not absorb water like other UL fabrics. This, and the fact that the seams are sealed, means we could say that it is virtually waterproof.

Mochila con capacidad de aceptar volumen si se necesita (de lo contrario se puede reducir con las correas de ajuste) y realmente muy cómoda. La he estado usando este verano en 2 travesías y me ha sorprendido lo bien que descansa el peso en las caderas. El material parece muy resistente y esperemos que duradero.
