The backpack shoulder pocket designed by Hyperlite Mountain Gear in Maine (United States) is an essential accessory for hikers who travel light and need immediate access to items like lip balm, phone, or compass.
When to Use It
Having an additional pocket on the shoulder is extremely useful, especially on long routes where you aim to minimize interruptions, or when you need extra space because the belt pockets are already full.
It fits all Hyperlite Mountain Gear backpacks, but can also be attached to backpacks from other brands like ULA or Six Moon Designs.

Design
It features an easy-grip waterproof zipper, designed for simple handling even with gloves, ensuring comfortable and effortless access. It incorporates protective foam on both sides, providing security for your belongings throughout the route.
Includes an external mesh pocket, in addition to a smaller inner pocket, ideal for storing cards or money. It is wide enough to accommodate a large-sized smartphone.
Made of Dyneema Composite Hybrid
The backpack shoulder pocket is made from a hybrid fabric of Dyneema and polyester, which combines durability and resistance, named DHC. It uses a 50 denier version of DHC, complemented with an internal DCF11 elastic mesh.
Dyneema, being a waterproof fabric that does not absorb water like other ultralight (UL) materials, along with the fact that its seams are sealed, makes it highly water-resistant.
