The Aspen is a backpack designed in Colorado (United States) by Symbiosis Gear, a brand founded by Sarah Berkeley with a clear mission: to create gear that genuinely fits bodies with breasts. After years of hiking with backpacks that did not provide a comfortable fit, Sarah decided to design a backpack from the ground up, by and for women.
When to use it
It makes sense for multi-day trips or long days if your gear and consumables fit within 48 L total and do not exceed 9 kg. The right capacity depends on the actual volume of your system, not just the number of days.
It is suitable for torso lengths of approximately 43 to 51 cm and people around 157.5 to 185.5 cm tall. Those with broad shoulders who are 183 cm or taller should check the fit carefully.

Design
The “stealth” bottom pocket provides access to snacks or a wind jacket without taking off the backpack. The large side pockets and zigzag compression keep the load stable. The roll-top closure makes it easy to compress the backpack to the volume of your gear as you go.
The S-shaped shoulder straps and the fully adjustable sternum strap allow the backpack to fit the torso and chest properly, avoiding the shifting and pressure points common in many unisex designs. The load is supported more naturally on the hips, which is particularly noticeable on longer routes.

Made from Extreema®
The Aspen is made primarily from a fabric called Extreema®, produced by EuroFibers, a Dutch company specialising in ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibres (UHMWPE).
This material stands out for being highly strong, lightweight and durable, offering a strength-to-weight ratio greater than steel and ensuring exceptional performance. A great choice for this backpack!
