Ultralight Tarp for 1 Person
The Deschutes ultralight tarp for 1 person is a minimalist shelter designed by Six Moon Designs, a small company from the United States specialized in manufacturing ultralight gear.
Design
The Deschutes has an interior area of 4m², which is sufficient for one person and their gear. Since it uses a trekking pole (or mast) for setup, the height can be adjusted. Setting it up higher provides more ventilation, while lowering it increases protection against rain and wind.
Moreover, in good weather, the side entry can be rolled up to completely expose the shelter and enjoy great views.

Structure
The Deschutes can be easily set up with just a trekking pole or a carbon fiber mast (not included) and tensioned with 6 stakes (not included). This forms a closed pyramid shelter capable of providing full protection against wind and rain. To reduce condensation and improve ventilation, it features an opening at the top.
By adding the Serenity Net (sold separately), you can convert the Deschutes ultralight tarp for 1 person into a true double-wall shelter with complete protection against the weather and insects.
Made of Silicone-Treated Nylon (Silnylon)
Its lightweight is also due to the fabric used. It utilizes a 30D Ripstop nylon impregnated with silicone (Silnylon). Silicone is a hydrophobic material (repels water), making the fabric highly waterproof. It also adds some elasticity, similar to nylon itself, making it more resistant to pulls and tears.
