The Polycro groundsheet for tents by Six Moon Design is designed to protect you from ground moisture, dirt, or insects. It prevents your inflatable mat or tent from getting punctured by branches or stones.
You’ll need a groundsheet depending on the type of shelter you have. Usually, when you purchase a tent, it already comes with a built-in groundsheet to insulate you from the ground.
However, sometimes it’s not sufficient, or some tents don’t come with one, and adding a Polycro groundsheet for tents is a good decision. It prevents wear and tear, keeps moisture from seeping in, and keeps your tent and equipment clean from ground dirt.

The Polycro groundsheet can be trimmed to any size with scissors to fit your needs. Additionally, it does not fray, so you won’t need to hem it. However, make sure it is slightly smaller than the footprint of your shelter. If it’s too big, the groundsheet may collect rainwater and store it under the tent. If you want to know more about groundsheet protectors, you can read this article Protectores de suelo para refugios.
Polycro is one of the lightest materials you can get with reasonable strength and durability. It’s made of a thin cross-linked polyolefin film (polypropylene) measuring 0.75mm for size S and 1mm for size L (slightly heavier).
It is transparent and incredibly lightweight. It is also very resistant to tension, punctures, and tears.

Very light and, above all, takes up very little space

When you see the material, it seems impossible that it could be so durable, but yes, it lives up to what it promises. Tested on a bivy and very happy with its durability and, above all, its lightness.

I haven’t tried it out in the field yet, but it seems like a good accessory for protecting the floor of the tent.

Sorry, I got ahead of myself.
None of what I said earlier is correct.
I hadn’t realized that the package contains two 244x122 footprints, each folded in half, so it was hard to notice their actual dimensions. And of course the thickness is half, and the soft feeling disappears when you unfold them. The weight per surface area is the same as the Polycro Plus ones I already had. It’s possible they’re made of that material...

Attention: I bought the size L, supposedly 244x122, and yes, those are the dimensions of the sum of the two protectors that come in the bag. In other words, it comes split into two halves of 244x61, which is not indicated anywhere. What I wanted was a one-piece footprint, for a tent or double tarp, always easier to handle than two footprints, especially in wind or when everything has to be set up quickly due to bad weather.
Another thing: this Polycro is softer and heavier per unit area than the Polycro Plus, of which I have had two individual footprints for years.

This material does not disappoint. We use it as a sleeping pad protector on the ground; it is very durable and lightweight, and also as insulation for gear on rainy camps, etc. The only drawback is that when placing the sleeping pad on the ground protector, you should avoid sloped terrain because the sleeping pad slips on the material.

Very light and it insulates very well from ground moisture. In my case, the material developed a tear of about four centimeters after a five-day trip. I can’t say exactly what caused it, perhaps a branch on the ground. Even so, I’m not dissatisfied with the product.
