The Mid 1, made by Hyperlite Mountain Gear in Maine (United States), is one of the lightest 3-season pyramid shelters on the market, weighing just 476gr. This weight is over 100 grams less than models from other brands, making it the ideal choice for long-distance hikers.
When to Use It
The Mid 1 is designed as a shelter for 3 seasons: spring, summer, and fall, ideal for single use. However, it’s common to find many hikers using it in winter. Its setup is simple and can be done with just an adjustable trekking pole or a carbon fiber mast (not included).
It comes with additional attachment points for adding ropes, improving its stability at high altitudes and under strong wind conditions.

Design
The interior space is generously sized at 81 cm wide and 244 cm long, providing plenty of room to store backpacks and additional gear. Moreover, the height is 137cm, which is exceptionally tall.
The seams, sealed directly from the factory, guarantee total waterproofness. Additionally, the ground height is adjustable, optimizing airflow and reducing condensation for a more comfortable and dry environment.

Made of Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF)
To achieve an optimal balance between lightness and durability, the Mid 1 is constructed with Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), a material known for its exceptional tear resistance and water resistance, while being incredibly light.
The bottom has a DCF 10 thickness strong enough to forgo a groundsheet. The rest uses a lighter DCF5.
