The Women synthetic jacket Torrid is made in Minnesota (USA) by Enlightened Equipment. It has a minimalist and lightweight design, making it especially popular among long-distance ultralight hikers.

When to Use

It is traditionally used to warm up while resting, at camp, or together with your sleeping bag when temperatures drop more than expected.
Compared to down, synthetic fiber does not lose its loft when wet and therefore continues to retain the heat you generate. It is ideal for most 3-season hiking trails (spring-summer-fall). Of course, you can also use it in the winter season, knowing its limitations.

Design

It has a fairly simple design and takes up very little space when compressed. It has 2 side zippered pockets to store your belongings or to keep your hands warm. Another zipper to partially open or close the jacket if you need to ventilate.
Elastic cuffs on the wrists and waist serve their purpose perfectly, and a hood helps retain heat in cold conditions.

Made from Climashield APEX and 10D nylon

To keep you warm, it uses a moisture-resistant synthetic fill called ClimaShield Apex. This premium thermal insulator is made in the USA and is one of the lightest, most compressible, and efficient on the market.
The fabric is very soft to the touch. In addition, the outer fabric has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating that repels water, mud, and dirt.
