The LumaZip phosphorescent thermometer is made in Colorado by Sun Company. They manufacture thermometers, altimeters, and a wide range of outdoor accessories. LumaZip is one of their most popular and affordable models.
Having a thermometer at hand while walking helps prevent heatstroke or situations arising from low temperatures, such as hypothermia.
It’s also useful for gathering information and checking the performance of certain items like your sleeping bag or thermal insulation jacket. Knowing their limits helps better plan future routes.

Unlike the Brrr-ometer thermometer, LumaZip is phosphorescent. This means it glows in the dark, making it easier to find while sleeping. You also don’t need to turn on a headlamp or phone to check the temperature at that moment.
On the back, it has a handy chart to calculate wind chill based on wind speed. It also features a ring that you can attach to any zipper on your backpack, clothing, or tent.
What’s interesting about this model is that it’s made of phosphorescent material that can glow for up to 6 hours after being exposed to light.

It’s perfect, weighs nothing, and it’s very useful that it glows in the dark.

It does its job just as the description says. I have it hanging from a hook in the tent, and it works well for knowing what the temperature is in the middle of the night, which is what I wanted.
